Membership >> EODMC

The EODMC: is a traditional Motorcycle Club.

For membership in the EODMC there are requirements that are initially met through a Prospect period where you will be given information on the EODMC, our mission, the Motorcycle Club community and our responsibilites within that community.

EODMC does not accept Law Enforcement.

It takes a Prospect period for indoctrination before you earn your Colors.

You must own & ride either an American or British Cruiser Style motorcycle.

We conduct fundraising events that provide support for organizations or individuals within the EOD community in their time of need. Being a Member of the EODMC requires participation and adherence to the Bikers Code. The EODMC has a strong Brotherhood where communications move up & down an elected Chain-of-Command keep all Members informed and tight.

For those who qualify and desire Membership with the EODMC, we welcome you.

The EOD Motorcycle Club Explained

The EOD Motorcycle Club & EOD Motor Group has a shared past and a shared mission in supporting the EOD Community. Because the EODMG is a one piece patch Riding Association and the EODMC is a traditional 3 piece patch Motorcycle Club, there are large differences between our Membership requirements, organization policies and philosophy.

The EODMC takes our responsibilites to the Motorcycle Community in showing RESPECT and following the Biker's Code very seriously.

We make it a priority to make sure local MC's are aware of our presence where we have Members. Our attitude and Respect have earned us Membership with the various State Confederation of Clubs. We equally expect Respect in return from our MC peers, RC's and independent riders.

With that said, since the EODMC does NOT have authority over or receive any support from the EOD Motor Group, we cannot take responsibility or credit for anything the EOD Motor Group does... good or bad.

EODMC: Colors

The EODMC Colors were designed to have significant meaning in all aspects of the patch, so the choice of the Maltese Cross was made for a variety of reasons. The Maltese Cross has a history and meaning that is consistent with the EOD Community. It was first used by the Knights of St. John of Jersusalem (AKA Knights Hospitallers) on the Island of Malta where the Cross got it's name. The Knights Templar also used the Maltese, but with different colors. The eight points of the Cross each had a specific meaning:

1. live in truth;
2. have faith;
3. be respectful;
4. give proof of humility;
5. love justice;
6. be merciful;
7. be sincere and whole-hearted; and
8. endure persecution.

The Knights wore the Maltese during the Crusades where they battled Muslims. It is no coincidence that we have chosen this symbol for our Colors during a time when we are in a war against radical Islamic Muslim terrorists. The Cross was also used by other militaries such as the Prussians and the Germans who used the "Iron Cross" as an award for Valor and Courage. After WWII, it gained popularity within the motorcycle community and can be seen on decals, pins, patches, leathers,  motorcycle accessories and clothing. It is the combination of military and motorcycle community use of the Maltese Cross that made it a perfect choice to be used on the EODMC Colors.

The Old English lettering was carried over from the old EODMC, but is relevant to the new Colors as it symbolizes the Celtic/Anglo origins of the Knights who first used the Maltese Cross.

The Master EOD badge in the center of the Maltese Cross is a true representation of the U.S. Military badge in use today. The meaning of the EOD badge should be known by all EOD Techs and can be found in other articles.

The Silver and Black colors used for our patch were chosen to be consistent with the colors of the EOD Badge. The Silver (or Pewter) symbolizes the metal or strength that we have in standing up for truth and the right path. The Black symbolizes our mourning for the names on the EOD Memorial wall.
